Magnesium
Magnesium supports and helps aid the transmission of nerve impulses, and this requirement may increase during times of stress in the dog’s life. Magnesium is also important in supporting muscle and nerve function.
Probiotic Saccharomyces cerevisiae MUCL 39885 (4b1710)
It has been shown in extensive studies that the use of probiotics can support and improve the dogs gut microbiome and help to improve nutrient digestibility and aid the immune function.
Prebiotic Mannan oligosaccharides (MOS)
The use of MOS helps to encourage the growth of ‘friendly bacteria’ in the dog’s gut that promotes overall gastro-intestinal health and wellbeing whilst helping to inhibit harmful bacteria like E. coli and Salmonella. MOS can also have a beneficial effect on the immune system, and it has also been shown that working with FOS it can help to reduce the odour from the dogs’ faeces.
Fructo oligosaccharides (FOS)
FOS helps the gastrointestinal tract of dogs by balancing and supporting the number of friendly bacteria and helps to improve mineral absorption that aids total wellbeing in the dog including metabolic support, skin health, and supports immunity.
L-Tyrosine
L-Tyrosine is a natural mood stabiliser, which can help dogs to become more focused, confident, and less anxious. L-Tyrosine helps the production of serotonin that is a neurotransmitter that has an important function in helping aid the regulation of stress in dogs.
Maximum Focus & Calm for Dogs contains B vitamins to support healthy brain function
Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine) helps to catalyse the conversion of 5HTP to Serotonin and so has an important role to play in helping to calm dogs.
Vitamin B3 (Niacin) is a co-enzyme that helps to convert tryptophan to 5HTP and promotes the production of serotonin in the brain. It also helps to inhibits the enzyme that breaks down tryptophan in the liver and indirectly promotes the production of serotonin in the brain that aids calmness.
Vitamin B1 (Thiamine) plays a direct role in aiding the transmission of nervous impulses that helps to reduce anxiety and improve concentration
L-Lysine
Studies have found that the essential amino acid L-Lysine can help to block the receptors in the dog that are involved in stress response and can aid with reducing anxiety. L-Lysine also helps to support the production of antibodies and enzymes that boost the dog’s immune system.
Glycine
The amino acid glycine has been shown to help reduce depression and anxiety in dogs and also supports muscle growth and repair. It also helps aid digestion and absorption of nutrients.
L-Arginine
L-Arginine works as a precursor for nitric oxide production, which helps to increasing vasodilation (widening of blood vessels) and blood flow to the muscles and brain that helps to reduce tension. It works by supporting the balance of neurotransmitters that aid in maintaining the function of the nervous system. L-Arginine also works in combination with the other amino acids lysine and glycine found in Maximum Focus & Calm for Dogs to help enhance and support the dog’s wellbeing and calmness.
Ashwagandha
Studies have shown that the powerful herb ashwagandha can help to reduce stress, restlessness and anxiety and also helps to support the immune system. The properties in ashwagandha work by regulating the production of the hormones linked to stress and supports the neurotransmitters in the dog’s brain including serotonin that help dogs to manage stressful situations and anxiety.
FEEDING INSTRUCTIONS
Maximum Focus & Calm for Dogs is a complementary feed and should be fed as a part of a balanced diet.
Example feeding rates
• 10kg small sized dog feed 4g per day
• 15kg medium sized dog feed 6g per day
• 25kg large sized dog feed 10g per day
• 40kg giant size dog feed 16g per day
Feed 2g of Focus & Calm for Dogs for every 5Kg of your dog’s weight per day.
Feed the required amount per day mixed into the dogs’ meals. Split the required amount equally over each meal. Always ensure that fresh, clean drinking water is available.
