Maximum Gut-Health

Maximum Gut-Health is an advanced and unique combination of high quality calcareous marine algae and a highly active live yeast Saccharomyces Cerevisiae MUCL 39885 and is formulated to act as a probiotic and to help support a healthy gut environment. On reaching the large intestine Maximum Gut-Health promotes the growth of beneficial gut flora that are essential to good gut wellbeing.

The most important job is to keep the good bacteria in the hind gut prolific and abundant, this allows the bacteria to be able to break down fibre efficiently and absorb nutrients, minerals, and vitamins.

By supporting the hind gut during periods of change, it will help the horse to digest forage effectively and improve overall wellbeing. By doing this we can keep horses comfortable and able to perform to their best ability.

This stability in the hind gut environment allows the horse to utilise any food and achieve maximum nutritional value.

Live Yeast Live Yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae MUCL39885 (Vistacell)

The live yeast Saccharomyces cerevisia used in Maximum Gut-Health works as a probiotic, and is a source of live, naturally occurring micro-organisms. Live yeast can have a beneficial impact on the bacterial population that live within the hindgut that aid digestion and support the immune system.

Feeding a live yeast helps to improve the digestibility of a horse’s diet by supporting the fermentation process, which converts fibre from the diet into an available energy source. Live yeast has been shown to increase the pH in the hindgut, and in doing so it can reduce detrimental concentrations of lactic acid. This effect is even more significant in performance horses, who tend to require higher levels of starch and concentrate feeds.

Metabolites produced by Live Yeast like Saccharomyces cerevisia in Maximum Gut Health has been shown to support the wellbeing of the immune system and the immune cells, which affect and regulate inflammatory responses in horses. This combined effect has also been shown to provide a stress-mitigating response in young animals.

Calcareous Marine Algae

Maximum Gut-Health has been formulated with a unique blend of natural sustainable plant based Calcareous Marine Algae, a highly efficient buffer that has a honeycomb structure that breaks down slowly helping to support and stabilise the pH and reducing the risk of acidosis and stomach ulceration. Working with the live yeast in Maximum Gut-Health Plus the Calcareous Marine Algae supports and aids feed digestibility, coat, and skin condition, helps strengthen hoofs, provides bioavailable magnesium, and calcium that is essential in stressful situations and can aid the regulation of acid in the fore and hind gut.

Maximum Gut-Health has a highly palatable vanilla flavour and can be fed alongside our unique and scientifically proven and researched range of advanced equine health support supplements.

Feeding Instructions

“We started using Maximum Gut with Mojo our Connie, as he was really sensitive to touch round his belly and hind quarters and was basically very grumpy. Within the first week he changed and became much calmer to ride, less spooky out hacking and a generally nicer person.

Mum isn’t a great believer of supplements so wasn’t sure if it was just a placebo effect. Anyway without me knowing we ran out, Mum didn’t tell me but within 3 days Mojo did! He started to become grumpy again, spooky out hacking and hard to manage in his stable. I asked Mum if she was doing anything different with his feeding and she said no, other than we’d run out of Maximum Gut.

We reordered and within 3-4 days he was back to a nice pony again. This was about 3 years ago & we’ve never run out again. We feed all 4 of ours on it & also feed the joint health to Benjie my 24 year old who still competes and it’s made a big difference to him, especially after the farrier comes. He used to have to have the day off after a farrier visit as he was sore from holding his legs up, however after being on the joint supplement he’s so much better. The products are amazing and actually work, we definitely will never be without them.”

“My horse JB Milan is a sensitive and sharp show jumper.

He has had an easy winter which we do every year to keep him fresh and relaxed ready for spring/summer season and to generally look after his legs and we focus on schooling and training through those months so he’s ready to go out and have fun and hopefully perform well.

Milan loses some condition going into winter which is quite normal with him and we struggled a little to get him looking well till we started using Maximum Gut Health and Maximum Joint supplements and since then he’s looking amazing and feeling great and generally very relaxed and more focused so it’s a no brainer Maximum gut supplements are the future.

There aren’t any other gut supplements that work as quickly as MGH and I’ve tried a few!”

“I have been feeding Maximum Gut for nearly 3 years now, I originally started feeding it as I saw what an amazing effect it had on a friend’s horses and I wasn’t disappointed with results when fed to my own horse George. Knowing that George has a healthy and happy gut gives me peace of mind whilst competing and training. I have also found a great change in the quality of his coat since George has been on the Maximum Gut, we are forever complimented on how shiny his coat is, which to me proves how happy he is feeling on the inside and it’s definitely showing on the outside.”

“Maximum Gut Health has helped transformed my horse, every year Max would have an awful attack of hives, we never knew where it would come from and spent so much money on allergy tests etc.
After talking with Sam, when I was at my wits end, she said we should think about how the hind gut works and having the micro biome working in harmony can make a major difference to the horse’s total wellbeing.

We are now 2 years on, and we could not be happier with how Max looks, and we have also started to feed the Maximum Joint supplement and he has gone from strength to strength.

This is our most recent photo of him at Blenheim palace RoR dressage championships.”

“I started using Max Gut Health 2 years ago when Billy started being quite overactive to leg aids, and general seemed anxious, I was really surprised at how much difference it made to him, he became more settled and accepting to the leg. Although he’s sadly been out of action for the past 11 months, I continue to feed MGH to keep him and his tummy happy. His coat is always so shiny and and despite spending over 6 weeks on box rest in the summer his poos remained the same and he coped surprisingly well with the whole situation thanks to MGH. Fingers crossed we will get back to our fun one day!”

“I’m very cautious about buying supplements & I like to do my research first. I was very impressed with what I found about MGH & decided to give it a try with my anxious mare as she was struggling to settle when I bought her.
I’m really happy with the results & my mare always gets compliments about her condition from other riders and the professionals who work with her. Couldn’t be more pleased”

“I love Max Gut. I have fed it to my mare since 2020! She is looking great and I am so pleased. She is 80% thoroughbred, forward going, very trainable, and well mannered and I’m sure Max Gut plays a major in making her a safe, happy, healthy horse. At this time of the year when there may be less time out, more time in the stable and it can vary from day to day due to winter weather conditions I really think Max Gut helps her gut to cope with these changes by keeping it balanced. Thank you Max Gut!”

“My daughter’s horse has suffered from fecal water syndrome in the past and had completely cleared up using Max Gut by Maximum Animal Health – Equine. I recently took him off the supplement (pennies were tight!!) and it returned within weeks. Back on MGH and this has completely resolved again, so I won’t be doing that again!”

“After having our Fell Pony at 3.5years old we soon realised that even though he was a strong minded boy he is also sensitive. He just seemed like he needed something that would aid his hind gut. We really did try MGH not really knowing much about the product other than the amazing reviews it had received. Well that was over 4 years ago now I would not be without it. He is a much happier pony and much more comfortable. He competes as an M&M Workers and MGH ensures that the work he is in, the season/temperature changes have less of an impact on him. The recent extreme low temperatures have been a struggle but MGH has supported our boy. I slightly increased MGH by a minimal amount and this showed too due to the weather meaning that he was not able to be ridden. Thank you MGH I wouldn’t be without this product. X”

“I was introduced to MGH a year ago by being given a tub of MGH. I had been using another product so gave the MGH a try and my horse definitely was more settled in his way of going. He became less stressed and I was very concerned about his gut health as we compete a lot with away shows. I would not use any other product now as the science is there and the company supplies all the information to back up the science for their product.”

“I started Monty on MGH when he was 4 turning 5 as he was an incredibly sharp and sensitive baby. I had other friends who had used their products and swore by them so it was a case of I have nothing to lose.
Monty is now 7 and I have to say it’s been the best thing we did. Before a big show I will double up his dose or if I know that something that might “stress him out” is coming up.
During “Winter Dragon” time I have also been know to put him on MGH Calm and Focus. It doesn’t take away his buzz as such but it helps him to focus and be less spooky.
Over the Christmas period I was lucky enough to win one of the Advent competitions and with that came the MGH Joint care and I have to say I’m also loving that as Monty has remained supple and supported even in the -6 temperatures we were having.
I’ve even used the Gut Health and Calm and Focus on the dog!!”

“So I started using Max Gut Health approximately 2-3 years ago or maybe longer, basically since it’s been on the market. My horse when I imported him had quite a severe hind gut bleed & the odd very minor ulcer scars. Once we got him back to tip top condition under veterinary supervision and checked, double checked. Triple checked over and over I was then on the hunt to find a product that had good research and scientific proof that it actually works. I’ve never looked back since using this product daily twice a day in my horses feeds. He’s stayed ulcer clear & hind gut clear ever since.
Definitely a supplement I know I can’t take him off… “

“I have been using Max Gut Health for a few years now with notable results. My horse’s digestion appears to be more settled and she has a more consistent appetite, which used to be a challenge during the busier months when we are away competing. Overall, I would highly recommend Max Gut Health, especially for more sensitive horses who struggle with sustaining good digestive health”

“Since I’ve had my young horse his gut balance has been all over place, but with MGH and occasionally MGH plus, his gut has been loads better with a happier horse, I have just purchased a bucket of the focus and calm as the winter whizzies have arrived so expecting nothing but amazing results”

“I have been using Maximum Gut Health Equine for about 2 years now. In this time I have noticed a marked improvement in my pony’s general demeanour & in his skin & coat. Even though he’s usually coated in mud, you can still see the shine in his coat when the sun catches him. He’s much happier & his droppings are firmer. He had sand colic in November 2023 & I really think a slightly increased amount of MGH helped support his recovery & ongoing prevention along with psyllium monthly. Thank you from Darshill Banshee aka Dave & me!”

“I’ve just got this lad over from Ireland. He finished racing in December last year and needs a bit of tlc as he’s a big-framed 9yo 16.3hh who was on the light side of lean when he arrived home. Although he passed a five-stage vetting, I’ve put him on Max Gut Health alongside a broad spec multi vitamin to help him adjust to his new way of life and to help his feet which are currently brittle and his skin which is dry. I’ve only been feeding for 7 days but I’m already starting to notice the difference in behaviour and condition, his coat has started to shine. The photos below are when he came home three weeks ago and yesterday after 7 days on the supplement. The most notable change for me so far is his attitude to being girthed up. He used to curl up and have a hook at me with a hind leg no matter how gently I girthed him but this has now stopped. It’s early days but I will definitely report back with progress.”

“Since being on Max-Gut we can confidently hack out on our own (he used to get anxious and spooky) his appetite has improved and now whinnies for his feed (he used to be fussy with his feed). Unfortunately he is going to be on box rest soon so I’m hoping that it continues to help him.”

“I’ve been using Max Gut-Health for just over a month now, not only have people noticed and commented on how well he is looming and how shiny he is, I have definitely noticed a huge difference in the way my horse is going. He came over from Holland with grade 3/4 ulcers back in 2013. Trying to manage this is particularly difficult when competing as he tends to get a bit worried when loading etc. He used to get quite ‘hot’ and sometimes a bit silly when jumping even at home let alone away at a competition and was fairly unridable as he would used to put his head and run through the bridle. Ever since I have been feeding this to my horse I have noticed he has stopped picking his leg up when I do the girth and rug up under his belly, he seems generally a lot more chilled. He is on restricted grass and soaked hay as he is prone to laminitis. I have really seen a difference ridden as well! We are now going clear in 105 classes, even coming 3rd at Richmond this weekend in the BE100open, our 3rd event in 2 years with a foot perfect double clear and a fab dressage! I will 10000% keep feeding this to him and recommend it to others to try!”

“After several weeks of increasingly difficult ridden/lunging behaviour and suspecting gastric ulcers, I put Will on a loading dose of Max Gut-Health Equine and approx 2 weeks later he had became much more settled and like his old self. He then had gastroscopy which showed grade 2 glandular ulcers. He is now on veterinary prescribed treatment and ready to come back into work. I have kept him on Max Gut-Health Equine throughout and I can’t thank Sam enough for her advice and assistance.”

“My Hungarian warmblood started having issues 18months ago. He started stopping in front of jumps and had funny episodes at home where his behaviour was bizarre .. ( constantly weight shifting , show signs of colic but no clinical symptoms, off in his movement behind but not lame etc ) tried numerous products with some success but we were still having episodes . Had him scoped for ulcers but clear and spent 3 days in vet hospital trying to get to the bottom of the issue . Put him on Max Gut 3 months ago and he is a different horse !! He’s put on weight, he eats everything I put in front of him and no episodes so far… Thank you for an amazing product. One very happy owner and horse”

A few months on Max Gut Health he’s never felt better, his stress levels are so much better he looks great, he’s wun 7 out of the last 8 shows and jumped 14 double clears he’s so happy in himself now. “Maximum Animal Health have supported me and my horse since the start, we had a long tough road with our horse coming up in hives all over his body. Even the vets were baffled and nothing was showing on tests, I got in touch with Sam as I’d seen they had helped a different horse get over a similar issue, we tried our boy on the Max Gut Health and we haven’t looked back since. I’m now very lucky to be supported by these guys, and after nearly losing our horse last year after an operation and then developing colic, Sam and her team were so kind supporting us through the whole ordeal to get him back on his feet.
We can’t thank you enough!”
